BREEZEWAY HILL MANOR

A West Austin estate inspired by Hill Country terrain and timeless materials, where a glass breezeway and layered interiors create a home deeply rooted in place.

PHOTOGRAPHER: JULIE SOEFER
STYLIST: JESSICA HOLTAM
ARCHITECT: WILL WASHER
BUILDER: NEW AUSTIN HOMES

Set on a sweeping West Austin hillside, this custom home was designed to feel deeply connected to its surroundings—drawing inspiration from the rugged textures of the Texas Hill Country and the quiet luxury of legacy properties like Blackberry Farm.

Clad in dry-stack stone and anchored by gabled rooflines, the architecture reflects a timeless sensibility while incorporating modern elements, including a glass-enclosed breezeway that connects the main house to a private guest retreat. This defining feature introduces a sense of lightness and transparency, balancing the home’s more traditional forms.

Inside, the design centers on creating spaces that feel both expansive and intimate. Vaulted shiplap ceilings, exposed beams, and a striking stone fireplace establish a sense of scale, while layered materials and thoughtful detailing bring warmth and approachability. Natural light was a guiding principle throughout, with carefully placed windows and doors framing views of the surrounding landscape.

The kitchen serves as a focal point, anchored by a Breccia Lunare marble island and refined with clean-lined cabinetry, integrated appliances, and soft finishes that extend into the adjacent living spaces. Across the home, moments of personalization—from collected artwork to tailored millwork—create a balance between elevated design and everyday livability.

The result is a home that feels grounded yet refined—where architecture, landscape, and interior design come together to create a place that is both timeless and deeply personal.
