Located in Austin’s historic Travis Heights neighborhood, the Hillside Drive Residence reflects a careful balance between architecture and interior design. We approached the project with the intention of creating a seamless dialogue between structure, materials, and livability.

The home embraces rather than battles its angular urban lot, requiring custom angles throughout its design. As designers, our challenge was how to make a house with tight pinch points not feel tiny. We used natural materials and a restrained palette, allowing both the architecture and the interiors to hold equal weight. Thoughtful layering of furnishings and finishes enhances the overall composition without competing with the structure itself.

Set just across Lady Bird Lake from downtown Austin, the project responds to its context while nudging it forward architecturally—blending modern sensibility with the character of one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. The result is a home that feels cohesive, grounded, and quietly refined.
