Our Mediterranean Modern Hacienda in Texas Hill Country

Featured in RUE Magazine

March 25, 2026

We’re thrilled to share that our Kerrville Project has been featured in Rue Magazine. Set in the rolling landscape of Kerrville, Texas, this 3,000-square-foot ranch serves as a peaceful weekend retreat just a couple of hours outside Austin, Texas in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.

The home began as a modest 1980s structure, but after severe damage from a winter ice storm, it was taken down to the studs and completely reimagined in collaboration with architect Michael Stolle and built by Dalgleish Construction. Together, we opened up the floor plan to improve flow, strengthen the home’s connection to the outdoors, and add a screened porch designed for long, easy weekends with family and friends.

Stylistically, we leaned into a Mediterranean sensibility—layering plaster walls, white oak cabinetry and paneling, thoughtful ceiling details, and architectural arches that introduce softness and rhythm throughout the home. One of the defining early decisions was the roof: the homeowners committed to a reclaimed Ludowici terracotta clay tile roof, a choice that set the tone for the entire design with its rich character and texture.

After two years of design and renovation, the result is what we like to call a Mediterranean Modern Hacienda. It's a home that feels both rooted in the Texas landscape and built for easy, everyday living. We’re honored to see this project featured in Rue and excited to finally share it with you.
